That no resident in Niagara-on-the-Lake need be hungry
Newark Neighbours is the only food bank and thrift store serving Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario and has been in operation since 1971.
We are a registered not-for-profit with an elected Board of Directors and entirely volunteer staff.
We do not receive financial support from any level of government and our continued operations rely solely on donations received plus sales from our thrift store.
The profits from our operations allow us to provide food bank clients with a selection of groceries every 2 weeks plus special holiday meals. We also provide limited food supply support to other local food banks (if possible), manage a bursary program for local students and provide support to Red Roof Retreat in
Our thrift shop sells donated clothing and footwear for women, men and children as well as jewelry, accessories, household items, small appliances, collectibles and more!!
Come in and have a look - you never know what you will find!
Many people believe that there cannot be needy people in Niagara-on-the-Lake - but this just isn't true. The region covered comprises Virgil (including Lakeshore close to the canal), Old Town, Niagara on the Green (beyond Niagara College), St. David’s up to the Niagara Falls boundary, Queenston and everywhere in between.
Food bank recipients must be residents of NOTL but anyone can shop at the Thrift Store.
